Why use StockSeller instead of a UK stock auction?

Three reasons. (1) Speed — lock in stock the moment you see it, no waiting for an auction to close. (2) Price clarity — a fixed Buy Now means no last-minute bid sniping pushing the price up. (3) Lower fees — buyer’s premium is a flat 15%, far below the 15-25% commission typical at UK stock auctions.

Can I still negotiate the price like at an auction?

Yes — every live listing has a Make-an-Offer button. Send your best price; the seller can accept, decline or counter. Negotiations stay private (your contact details are hidden until payment clears). Most offers get a reply within 24 hours.

Are stock auction lots typically cheaper than StockSeller?

In practice no — once you factor in the buyer’s premium (often 18-25% at traditional UK stock auctions), VAT, collection and the risk of being outbid late, StockSeller’s 15% buyer’s premium plus fixed Buy Now usually works out cheaper for similar quality stock.

What kind of stock do you sell that a stock auction would normally have?

Everything traditional UK stock auctions list — mixed joblots, single-SKU pallets, liquidation stock, ex-catalogue, customer returns, clearance and end-of-line. The difference is timing: it’s here today, you buy or offer today, you collect this week.

Who can buy on StockSeller?

UK trade buyers only — limited companies, sole traders and partnerships with a VAT number or trading business account. We verify every buyer before they can make offers or checkout. No consumer buyers.

Do you deliver stock nationwide?

Yes — we supply the trade nationwide across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. Delivery or collection is set per listing. Many pallets include free UK mainland delivery; larger lots are collection-only from the seller’s depot with the full postcode shared after payment clears.

How does payment work?

All payments go through Stripe with SSL 256-bit encryption. Buyer and seller contact details stay private until payment clears. 14-day buyer protection is included on marketplace orders (brokered Mixed Job-lot deals are settled direct with the seller after collection — always inspect before you pay).

Is there a fee to sign up?

Buyer accounts are 100% free — no subscription, no minimum order, pay only when you buy. Sellers also list free (0% seller fees); buyers cover a small buyer’s premium at checkout.
